Seacole Close, Lister Close and Garrett Close Case Study

Hazlemere Commercial were asked by property management consultants IG9 LLP to tender for this window and door refurbishment upgrade project for Catalyst Housing. As Approved REHAU Installers, Hazlemere Commercial were well placed as the specification required that only REHAU Total 70 UPVC Windows and Doors be used.

The new replacement more thermally efficient UPVC fenestration products supplied and fitted by Hazlemere Commercial on this project were therefore REHAU 70C side hung outward opening casement windows with external cills, trickle vents, beaded and egress stays. The finishes required to match in with the existing properties in Seacole Close, Lister Close and Garrett Close was rosewood foil externally and white gloss internally.

The REHAU UPVC doors supplied and fitted by Hazlemere Commercial in 2018 were Total 70C doors, three hinges per door sash, lever / lever handles in white with split spindles, 5 point multi point locking system, middle rail where required, SBD compliant and also internally beaded.

All windows Hazlemere Commercial fitted were internally beaded and certified “Extreme” rated in terms of exposure categorisation – Pascal rating: 1200 – All REHAU UPVC profiles supplied are certified as Class “A” BS EN 12608. All windows supplied with concealed drainage. The 28mm wide glazing consisted of hermetically sealed double glazed units comprising of a 6.4mm ‘soft coat’ low emissivity layer laminated safety glass inner pane and a 4mm clear toughened safety glass outer pane with an argon gas filled cavity and a Swiss V Spacer. Obscured stippolyte glass was fitted to all toilet and bathroom windows.

Hazlemere Commercial had to liaise with each property owner on more than one occasion in order to facilitate a) access for their surveyor prior to fabrication, and again b) to mutually agree the dates for installation of the REHAU replacement UPVC double glazed windows and doors.
