Hardworking Staff Rewarded With Night Out At Top Golf Watford

Following a very busy first quarter for the team here at Hazlemere Commercial it was decided an event to let our hair down was well overdue. We also have some new faces on-board and it is always good to take a break from all things fenestration and get away from the office and site for a chance to get to know new team members a little better. Popular vote decided that a trip to Top Golf was the order of the day so mini bus, golf time and burgers pre-ordered the merry bunch set off for the quick trip around the M25 to Watford.

Now it’s fair to say there is a high number of competitive folk in the commercial team, and although none of them would admit it, plenty had their eye on the number 1 spot. Directors Tony Beale and Jamie Lewis are always fancied as contenders, with good golfers identified in our experienced project managers Martin Brown and Lee Cross and also our aluminium technical wizard James Edwards. The new additions to the team were unknown quantities.

Ethan, Sakib and Anthony, the fresh faced trainee estimators of Hazlemere Commercial, proved to be competitive players too, with some impressive shots heading out towards the point scoring flags on the Top Golf course. Senior estimator Luke has also dressed for the part but his lucky golfer’s hat didn’t seem to give him the edge on this particular occasion.

Following fierce competition Hazlemere Commercial’s Technical Manager James Edwards (featured below at Top Golf Watford) was crowned winner with 147 points, followed by new kid on the block Anthony Woodcock with 123 and third place with 107 points went to Tony Beale. Lisa and Claire were ridiculously happy to fluke fourth and fifth place and will be dining out in the office on that result for quite some time. We will save the blushes of our estimator Ben Brookes and not mention the wooden spoon award.

The team then headed out to the adventure golf course to see if you could indeed play in the dark and occasional rain, and yes it was possible. Perhaps not being able to see the holes helped some of the Hazlemere commercial players, it certainly turned into a fun round. And a tip for the 18th, if you just hit the ball into the water the current carries it to the hole for you!
